We’ve rounded up some of our favourite family-friendly walks across the region, perfect for weekend adventures, fresh air, and quality time outdoors.

  1. Anembo Reserve (Duffy’s Forest)
Quiet, peaceful, bush setting. Surrounded by Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park on three sides. Great for exploring native plants and getting away from the crowds.
    Distance/difficulty: Medium, ~2 km, ~30-45 min.
  2. Allenby Park
Between Beacon Hill, Allambie Heights and Brookvale, this is a bit of a gem. Trails wind through the bush, there are mossy rocks, lookouts, a peaceful vibe.
Distance/difficulty: ~2.5 km, 30-60 mins. Moderate with some ups and downs.
  3. Dee Why Headland
Good views, coastal bushland, a bit more rugged in spots, but very rewarding. Kids who like waves, birds, coastline will love this.

  4. Warriewood Wetlands Boardwalk
Ideal if you want something gentle. Boardwalks and formed paths, great for spotting water birds, frogs, and enjoying nature without a major climb.

Combines beach, history, gentle walking. Good for a longer outing but you can break it up. Includes steps, beach walking and footpaths.

  6. Narrabeen Lagoon Trail
A favourite for many families. Scenic, relatively flat, good views, lots of nature, cafes around for a stop. Great for doing part of the loop or the full loop depending on energy levels.
Distance/difficulty: Full loop ~8.4 km, 2-3 hours. Mostly flat and easy, pram and bike friendly.
